I have finally started ramping up my training for my off road triathlon the end of May. The weather can sometimes be unpredictable in April so today I rode on the trainer at the gym. I was able to ride for 10 miles and did some hill and flat intervals.

There were some great days to ride on the trails this month. This month I was able to ride on the Santa Fe, down at Cheyenne Mountain State Park with Amelia, and Black Forest Section 16. All were great rides but not all ended without injuries. I did get a few scrapes and bumps but nothing too serious.
JUMPING ON THE TRAMPOLINE

The kids love jumping on the trampoline. They love it even more when their parents get on and jump with them. Mike is always so good about jumping with the kids and playing all sorts of games with them.
RUNNING IN GARDEN OF THE GODS

My running group, the Sunrise Striders, changed their workout location starting in April to the Garden of the Gods. I love running there. Most of the time the weather is great. However, today it decided to snow. Even though I am sick of the snow there was still something so beautiful about running around the Gardens in the snow.
SORTING LAUNDRY WITH THE KIDS

I came up with a great game to help the kids be more excited to sort the laundry. I brought all three laundry baskets downstairs and let the kids throw the clothes from the 2nd floor and see if they could make it in the right basket. It was a huge hit and something we will do every so often just for kicks.

I thought it was hilarious when I spotted all of the boys on their devices tonight. All three of them were playing different games and having a great time.

I love watching Andrew and Peter play their instruments. Peter has really enjoyed learning the Trumpet this year and Andrew has really advanced in playing the trombone.
MIKE’S SURGERY

Today Mike had his hernia repaired by Reed Kuehn who is one of the General Surgeons and Evans Army Hospital. It is always scary going in for surgery but the procedure went really well.

I was spoiled again this year with some fun clothes from Athleta from both Mike and my parents. My parents were able to be here on my birthday this
year, which was really special. They all surprised me with a chocolate mint ice cream cake because that is my favorite ice cream. It was really yummy!

BOY SCOUT COURT OF HONOR

This was Peter’s first Boy Scout Court of Honor since he just turned 12 and he received his Tenderfoot, 2nd class and 1st class ranks. Peter also received merit badges for Citizenship in the World and Citizenship in the Nation. Andrew received the Electricity and Digital Technology merit badges.
