Madeline's Room

We are all ready and just waiting for the baby to arrive. I'm so happy and grateful for the way Madeline's room turned out. Mike worked so hard over the last few months to make this room absolutely perfect. Peter was such a great helper and I helped out when I could. It was definitely a long process between moving the boys down to the basement and painting and installing all the white molding in the room. When the main area of the room was finished Mike decided to redo the closet to put in shelves for me. I was thrilled that I was getting the most perfect space for our new little girl. We filled the room with some new pieces of furniture and also with some sentimental pieces. The glider was given to me by Grandma Candace before Andrew was born. I have rocked all of my kids in that rocking chair. The little wooden rocking chair was given to Mike by his great grandmother Emma when he was little. The wicker rocking horse was purchased for me in Japan when I was 2 years old. The kids keep telling me that I am going to have this baby any day now. Technically I still have a little over 2 weeks left but all my babies have come a little early. We are hoping Madeline comes early too.

First Day of School - Fall 2016

ABBY
3rd Grade
Mrs. Lindquist

At the beginning of the day when we walked into our classrooms there were starbursts on our desks with our books. Mrs. Lindquist told us we could eat the starbursts. Then we got to find out what our student numbers are. I met a new friend who sat next to me. Her name is Farrah. At my table I get to sit next to Joey, Rylan, and Farrah. We played a get to know you game where our teacher sat in the middle of the room and she would spin around then point to someone when she stopped and whoever she was pointed at had to say the names of the kids next to them. If they didn't say it fast enough they had to go in the middle. After that we got a piece of paper that had other things that described things about us and when we found someone else with the same thing we got to put their initial on our page. At recess I played a game with McKenzie, True, Noelle, and Kalie. McKenzie, Noelle and I are in different classes but we get to play together at recess. I had a great day!

EMMA
5th Grade
Amy McLay

Today we reviewed all the rules and our teacher had us write down how we wanted to feel in the classroom. My teacher, Mrs. McLay is super nice. She had yoga balls, seat cushions, really soft chairs that you sink into, and little tables that she let you move around the room. There are a few people I know from last year that are in my class this year. Laura, Mason, Madox, and Jasmine are all in my class this year. Laura and I sit next to each other. At recess I played Zombie tag with Maya, Ishan, Aiden and Jack.

8th Grade
Team 812 - Niko

I am excited for my eighth grade year with my new teachers. Mr. Spano seems pretty nice and he is so organized on ALEC. Ms. Jones seems like a very fun teacher and I am excited for my science class with Mrs. Niko who is a new teacher this year. Mrs. Hertzog, who is my math teacher, is the best teacher ever. On the first day she was already sarcastic and roasting kids. This year looks like it is going to be bright.

ANDREW
10th Grade
Sophomore Year

Going into sophomore year is just a reminder that school get's harder and I will be out of the house in a few years. I wanted the year to end already because I am not a school fan for most of it. The only true thought I had throughout the day was "Here we go again." I did, however, like knowing that I knew exactly where to go in the school. That feeling of joy lasted only that day to be honest. When I got home I wanted to sleep, but mom wanted to know how the first day was. I ended up sleeping anyways and off started my school year.
