Happy New Year! Today we took a rest day! We spent the day recovering from skiing mostly because it was far too cold to actually go skiing today. Mike took the girls to the Provo Rec Center and they had a great time in the pool. They even saw Adam from Studio C running around the track. He has terrible form. Jake and Josh came over for dinner. It was fun to see the cousins. We had totally forgotten that Josh was at BYU, so when he walked in, it was kind of a fun surprise.
We all went to bed early and got up to go skiing. What better way to ring in the New Year than on skis in the mountains with your family (except for Madeline who enjoyed playing with plastic food with Grandma and Grandpa). It was incredibly cold today, much more than our first day. The boys were most excited to try out the double blacks up by the top of the mountain. Somehow, they conned Sara to come with them. They had a great time and the views from the top were awesome. Mike and the girls cruised the blues and had a lot of fun eating lunch and hot chocolate without the stinky boys. We ate this time at the Miner’s Cabin which was a much better place to eat than at the summit. After a great day of skiing and being cold, we headed back down to Provo. We tried to go out to Indian food for dinner, but it was closed. Instead, we headed over to the Pizza Factory which is really old and run down. It used to be a great place 20 years ago. It’s amazing that it is still there.
