We had heard so many great things about the Mormon Battalion exhibit near Old Town in San Diego so we decided to spend the morning there. The tour really exceeded our expectations. We all loved participating in the tour, watching some inspiring videos, and learning more about this religious based unit that served as a volunteer unit during the Mexican-American War. After the tour was finished we got to get a fun family photo taken before heading into the courtyard to pan for gold, pretend to wash clothes the old fashioned way, pretend to make bricks, and pull water out of the well. We spent a lot of time in the courtyard with the kids just playing and enjoying the beautiful weather.
