It is always so much fun to be a chaperone on the kids’ field trips. I was able to join Abby and her class in going to Cave of the Winds in Manitou Springs, CO. Before entering the caves the kids got to play in the Caver’s Crawl which was a hands on simulated caving experience where they were able to figure out how to crawl through a multi leveled box. They LOVE that. Then they were able to compete as teams in the Time Freak where they were able to race against the clock to push bottoms as they lit up. The kids were divided into two teams and tried to push more buttons then the other team. It was hilarious to watch. After fun at a few of those games our group took our tour through the cave. We wound our way through nearly a mile of caverns and experienced total cave darkness during the tour. Even though I had already been through the caves with Mike and the kids a year before it was still super fun. After our tour was over we ate lunch at the Williams Canyon Overlook and let the kids enjoy the great views with their friends. Abby really loves her classmates and her teacher Ms. Hall and her assistant Mrs. Pellow.
